About the Center
The Indian Hills center has assisted existing businesses and entrepreneurs in Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello and Wayne counties since November 1984. This center’s ten-county service area includes a diverse rural population that is often under-employed; however, SBDC services are delivered equitably to both urban and rural areas. Its long-time center director helped establish an SBDC center at Southeastern Community College, helped operate IDEA’s Rural Assistance Program for several years, and worked with the Area XV Regional Planning Commission to establish a revolving loan fund that has helped fund new business start-ups for low-income entrepreneurs for many years.
