This is a hands-on workshop. Please bring a laptop or mobile device with you.

Pre-registration is required because space is limited.  To Register, Click HERE.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND
This program helps local businesses in our cities and state update and improve their online information where customers are searching for them the most – Google Search and Maps.

Without a local business listing in an online search engine, small businesses are missing out on potential customers, which means a lot of small businesses are missing out on sales. Businesses that have complete business information online are TWICE as likely to be considered reputable by consumers.

In this 1 1/2 hour, NO-FEE workshop you and your fellow businesses will:
• Learn how to put more information about your businesses into Google
• Get your companies verified for Google searches
• Add information such as location and hours of operation
• Add photos to enhance the listing
• Get a diagnostic tool to see how you can improve your listing and visibility
• Have access to a one-year free website and domain name from Google partner StartLogic

Tricia Rivas to Speak at First Friday Series @ The Greater Des Moines Partnership
Sep 1 @ 11:30 am – 1:00 pm

Iowa Center for Economic Success’ Women’s Business Center and the Greater Des Moines Partnership will host their next First Friday Series event of 2017 on Sept. 1 at The Greater Des Moines Partnership. The event features Tricia Rivas, founder and owner of Trixie’s Salon and Dream Catchers Foundation.

First Friday is an opportunity for savvy, successful business owners and entreprenuers in Greater Des Moines (DSM) to share their stories. The First Friday series gives a chance for attendees to catch some words of wisdom from women who have experienced entrepreneurship first-hand. Past speakers include Leng Vong Reiff of Akili Design and Marketing Services, Liz Lidgett of Adore Your Walls and Emma Walsmith of Tikly.

Sessions are free and open to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. Locations rotate among The Iowa Center, the Greater Des Moines Partnership and Gravitate Valley Junction. The September event will be held at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 700 Locust, Ste 100 in Des Moines.

Rivas, owner of Trixie’s Salon, has always had a passion for giving back to the community. Rivas used her skills as a licensed beauty professional to donate salon services to Hospice of Central Iowa, the women’s shelter in Des Moines, and to Des Moines veterans. Overseeing more than 15 stylists at Trixie’s Salon, Rivas encouraged her employees to donate their talents to organizations in DSM. She decided to turn their giving back as a team into something much more by starting the Dream Catchers Foundation. Dream Catchers is the only nonprofit of its kind in DSM that provides salon services for chronically and terminally ill men, women and children as well as their caregivers.
