ISU Women in Ag Leadership Conference @ Scheman Building

Whether you want to be an active leader within your farm family, create the agribusiness career path of your dreams, or influence local agricultural boards and committees, this conference will have something for you. The event will bring women together for inspiration, informal mentoring, new ideas and expanded skill sets around leadership. As we continue to grow the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Women in Ag program, we want to offer activities that are unique in our state, take advantage of university expertise, and support the community of women in agriculture.

Optional, intensive leadership workshops are scheduled for Monday evening, November 27, 2017, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. These three hour workshops with dinner will focus on specific skill sets for professional and personal development. There is a $20 fee for the optional workshop and dinner. In addition, everyone is welcome to sign up for a free campus tour from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Monday.

The ISU Extension and Outreach Women in Ag Leadership Conference takes place on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at the Scheman Building on the Iowa State Center, Ames, Iowa. Registration begins at 7:30am and the program runs 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Anderson, Co-founder at visionDNA, will present on the “Top Five Things to Know About Finding Your Sweet Spot Customer”

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Nov. 16, 2017) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced the next presenter in its Small Business Resources “Top Five for Small Business” series. Connie Anderson, Co-founder at visionDNA will present on “Top Five Things to Know About Finding Your Sweet Spot Customer.” The Top Five series features presentations to inform, educate and inspire business owners in Greater Des Moines (DSM). The events focus on a variety of timely topics that affect business owners and managers including legal, human resources, information technology, marketing, accounting and other pressing issues.

Anderson’s presentation will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 700 Locust St., Ste. 100.

A “Sweet Spot” is where a target customers’ needs fit with what’s special about a business’s product or service. Understanding their Sweet Spot will help businesses be able to capitalize on their marketing efforts and focus on more profitable customers resulting in increased sales and organizational growth. Anderson will review the five things to know to identify the perfect customer that fits an organization and how to target that customer and stay on course.

Anderson specializes in marketing strategy, leadership and team development and logistics consulting. With more than three decades of business, Anderson brings a unique perspective to marketing and the customer experience. Her background includes both corporate and entrepreneurial experiences as CEO of Aspen Logistics, a third-party logistics (3PL) company, and other executive roles in operations, marketing and sales with other 3PL organizations. As a business leader, she helps organizations gain clarity in their approach of gaining customers, retaining them and creating the customer experience. Anderson has an uncanny capability to connect with all management and successfully shift perspective to bring potential ideas into focus and building success in their organizations from the inside out.
