Problem-solving is the foundation of Lean. Do you have the tools, standardization, and expertise at all levels of your organization to solve problems? And how do you keep your company focused on its core values while that’s happening?
This one-hour webinar will explain how your organization can bring to life the values articulated in its guiding principles or mission statement. Nationally known Lean expert Mike Hoseus will explain the specific steps/actions (communication, buy-in, engagement, purpose, customer satisfaction, and more…) that your organization should consider while using its problem-solving processes in daily activities. We’ll discuss each participant’s “line of sight” to the company goals or business plan (Hoshin), which is normally centered around your key performance indicators (quality, cost, productivity, safety, and HR development).
After attending this workshop you should be able to:
- Connect the values of Lean to problem-solving.
- Understand what it takes to develop clear, concise, and effective problem-solving A3’s.
The webinar will be facilitated by Mike Hoseus, executive director of the Center for Quality People & Organizations (CQPO). That organization was developed in 1999 as a vision of Toyota Motor Manufacturing to share Lean Quality philosophy and human resource practices with education, business, and community organizations. CQPO current projects with Toyota include new hire selection and training processes, team leader and group leader post promotion training, quality circle leader and manager training, and global problem-solving at all levels.
Mike is an adjunct professor with the University of Kentucky’s Lean Manufacturing program and co-author with Dr. Jeffery Liker (author of The Toyota Way) of Toyota Culture. He also is a member of the faculty of Lean Enterprise Institute and president of Lean Culture Enterprises.
