Golf22 is located in the Historic Albia Downtown Square. Opened in late 2021 by Darin and Jeni Fisher, the venue offers its patrons a full bar with dining and sports entertainment options.

Darin has over 24 years of experience as a professional golfer and teacher. He was elected to a PGA membership in 2007. Darin helped the Iowa DNR in opening the Preserve on Rathbun Lake at Honey Creek Resort in 2008 and has been actively teaching as the PGA Head Golf Professional there since 2008. Jeni had a small meal prep business and did catering as well.

Golf22 offers many exciting options for patrons, featuring premier indoor golf simulators and unique food and drink choices. Golf22 is a perfect place for any age, golf ability, and year-round playing. They offer an exclusive experience for groups and outings, including a full-service bar and restaurant to cater to your needs. The historic atmosphere features a large brick patio in the back and the second floor features a large event space for groups and private parties. 

Jenni and Darin saw a need for more dining and entertainment options in Albia. Combining their passion for their community with Darin’s golf expertise, Golf22 was opened. The Indian Hills SBDC office assisted Darin in refining his business plan. Making sure no stone was left unturned in preparation for launching the business. Darrell Sarmento, the business counselor working with Darin and Jenni, has wonderful things to say about the couple, “Working with Darin and Jeni was a joy as they are already sharp business people. As a PGA Pro, Darin is also a three-time Iowa PGA Merchandiser of the Year for Resort Courses. Add in Jeni’s catering experience, and you have a very talented team. Much of my work was giving a second set of eyes to their business plan plus the financials and keeping them on a timeline to their opening date,” says Darrell.
