Opened in 2023, Maxsimizer Welding is a professional welding, metal fabrication, and machine workshop based in Cedar Rapids, IA. Behind the scenes is Max Franks, an experienced welder and fabricator.
In 2012, right after high school, Max began his welding career. After a few years in the industry, he shifted his focus to heavy equipment and machine welding in 2016. This shift opened up the opportunity for Max to gain valuable experience in a new area of welding.
For a period of time, Max worked as a welder within a larger business. Here, he used his skills to develop a new department within the company that specialized in welding and fabricating. After about three years in this position, Max decided to take the next step of opening his own business.
Starting a business is unfamiliar territory for many individuals, so when Max wanted to branch off independently, he sought guidance from Kirkwood SBDC Regional Director Michael Wampler. Through his assistance, Max was able to develop a strong business plan and navigate the challenges of starting a business.
At Maxsimizer Welding, Max prides himself in the types of repair that he is able to offer to his customer base. In an industry with such high demand, Max believes there is ānot enough to go around.ā Because of this, Maxsimizer Weldingās customer base thrives off of word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied customers.
As Maxsimizer Welding has grown, the one-man-shop has gained a well-rounded customer base. A majority of his customers are in the Cedar Rapids area, and as the business grows, Max plans to expand his reach even further.
