Dr. Aaron Giddings attended Grand View University for biology, and decided that he wanted to open a chiropractic office of his own. After receiving his doctor degree of chiropractic, he decided to work for an existing practice while he started the process of opening his own. Six months after the planning process began in 2009, Aaron opened the doors to Chiropractic Health & Wellness Clinic in Johnston, Iowa.
Aaron reached out to Mid SBDC at the beginning of the process, hoping to find some guidance in business planning, five year goals, and marketing strategies. From then, Aaron has also reached out to the SBDC for help in generating a solid online marketing presence. When we asked Aaron about his experience with the SBDC, he explained, “The SBDC has been an excellent resource for every phase of our business, from initial planning to marketing and growth.”
Chiropractic Health & Wellness Clinic’s goal is to provide quality, affordable health care in a comfortable and caring environment. They strive to have every visit convenient and stress free, and not only alleviate pain, but encourage their patients to take an active role in their own well-being. Aaron Giddings not only encourages his patients, but also donates his time outside of work to encouraging others. He has mentored at the Johnston Youth Mentoring Program for the last seven years and has worked with the same child since he was in 5th grade, who is now a senior in high school making post-graduation plans.
In Chiropractic Health & Wellness’s first year of business, they began to struggle with keeping overhead costs low. But with more time and assistance from the SBDC, Aaron has watched his business experience double digit growth every year since then. After reaching the five year mark, which Aaron describes as his biggest triumph, “Overhead and stress levels went down, and new patients and referrals went up.” Dr. Giddings currently has three full-time employees and two part-time employees, and he plans to add a second provider in the office so that he can continue to offer the level of care his patients expect.
