As Regional Director of America’s SBDC Iowa at Kirkwood Community College in Hiawatha, Scott Swenson was honored as the 2017 Iowa “State Star” by the national association of Small Business Development Centers –
America’s SBDC annually recognizes Small Business Development Center employees for demonstrating exemplary work performance, significantly contributing to the organization’s economic development efforts, and showing a strong commitment to small businesses.
Swenson is a lifelong Iowan and a University of Iowa graduate. Prior to being hired by the SBDC, Scott spent 30 years in media, marketing, and management. He also owned his own small business in Cedar Falls.
Swenson, who’s been with the organization since October 2013, was nominated by his associates for this honor. He was recognized at a special reception held during the America’s SBDC national fall conference in Nashville, Tennessee in September 2017.
