Mike Upah

As Regional Director of the Iowa Small Business Development Center at Iowa State University in Ames, Mike was honored as the 2012 Iowa “State Star” by the national association of Small Business Development Centers – America’s SBDC.

America’s SBDC annually recognizes Small Business Development Center (SBDC) personnel for demonstrating exemplary work performance, significantly contributing to the organization’s economic development efforts, and showing a strong commitment to small businesses.

Upah, who’s been with the organization since September 1998, was nominated by his associates for this honor. He was recognized at a special reception held during America’s SBDC’s national fall conference in New Orleans, LA on September 11, 2012.

“Mike’s hard work and commitment to the businesses served by the Iowa State University Small Business Development Center deserves to be recognized,” says Iowa SBDC State Director Jim Heckmann. “Mike is well known for his expertise and long-time assistance to high tech companies and technology commercialization in the state and he very much deserves this national recognition.”
